Family Photographer in Kent

“Dear James

Just to confirm that we received the fire stick safely. We are absolutely over the moon with your work. I wish we lived nearer so we could recommend you to family and friends.

The photographs were just what we wanted and will form a big part of the memories of my 70th birthday.

Once again, thank you.”

Mary P

This was a lovely family who’d hired a house for a weekend in Newenden, East Sussex.

It was Mary’s 70th Birthday celebration and I was please and honored to be asked as the photographer. All her children and their families were they’re including the grand children.

We had a great few hours of taking photos. Some formal and most were informal, messing around in the garden and generally feeling at ease in front of the camera.

One of the grandchildren is a keen Chelsea supporter so made a special edition photo just for him. You can see that in the gallery opposite.

Everyone made me feel very welcome and we got some great photos from the day

Introduction

Family photography has become a very regular request and I’ve had great fun being involved in family get-togethers over the years.

All families are different but when it comes to my own family reunions it’s always been very entertaining. But, if I was asked to photograph it I think they would make life as difficult as possible – in a nice way!

These events are personal and I wouldn’t like to make people feel uncomfortable and with my natural style being unobtrusive it seems to gel together quite nicely. However, I am adaptable and on request we can be as informal or formal as you wish.

Family day out in Brighton.

Before the day

It’s a good idea to have a chat before the shoot so we can get a good feel for things. You can get an idea on what to expect from the shoot and we can agree on some key points so we can use the time to its best.

I can get a picture in mind of the sort of thing your looking for and I can then plan for the session making sure we get all the aspects covered.

During the session

On the day I will arrive a bit earlier so we can get acquainted and make sure everyone is feeling at ease.

I have always found that as the session progresses that people soon get used to the camera. That’s when the shots start to get better and better.

Main aim of the day is to enjoy your selves and not to be too conscious of me wondering around taking photos.

After

Once we’ve done for the day I will take the photos away and go through each one individually and edit them so they are looking their best.

They will be supplied in formats previously agreed. Such as ready for print, web, Instagram and you will be able to download them straight from my website, link or I can post you a fire stick or CD.

Turnaround times depend on how busy it is but it ranges from 1 – 2 weeks.
